mounting yard/owners' viewing and seating area
To best accommodate Owners with runners during the Melbourne Cup Carnival and observe bio-security regulations to prevent any outbreak of Equine Influenza, the VRC has rezoned the Mounting Yard and expanded the Owners' Viewing and Seating Area. The Owners' Stand is located within the Members' Enclosure, and therefore, Members' dress standards must be observed.
Each runner during the Melbourne Cup Carnival will be allocated a minimum of 6 Owners viewing and seating passes. The maximum number will be determined by the size of the field (max 160 tickets per race). Of these, a maximum of 4 x Owners per runner will be allowed access into the Mounting Yard proper. The VRC will allocate the 4 x Mounting Yard passes to the first person named as an Owner in the Racebook.
mounting yard/owners viewing and seating summary
Important information for Managing Owners:
- 4 x Owners per runner will gain access to the Mounting Yard.
- Depending on ticketing restrictions for each race (i.e.: 160 maximum), all other Owners are able to access either: the Owners' Stand in the Members' Enclosure or; the Owners' viewing area in the dry zone on the western end of the Mounting Yard.
- All winning Owners will be escorted into the Mounting Yard non-Exclusion Zone.
- 2 x Owners of the winning horse during the Carnival will be able to partake in presentations for their race. These Owners partaking in the presentation will be escorted via the Committee Room to the presentation area.
- The presentation area is in an Equine Influenza Exclusion Zone. The 2 x winning Owners will therefore only be allowed access to the presentation area on the condition that they sign the Winning Owners' Declaration and adhere to the disinfecting process prior to entering the exclusion zone. The disinfecting process involves the application of Aqium Gel hand wash and walking through foot bath trays located at the entry and exit points. No entry to any Exclusion Zone will be granted to persons who do not adhere to the aforementioned bio-security requirements.
- All Owners involved with winning horses will be invited to the Committee Room to enjoy the Club's hospitality after the race presentation.
- All other Owners (non-winning) will be able to enjoy the Club’s hospitality in the Owners and Trainers Bar which is located directly under the Owners Seating area.
