History

The Melbourne Cup Business Network is a free membership based program launching an exciting new era in corporate networking leveraging off Australia's most prestigious sporting and social event - The Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Melbourne Cup Business Network was developed by the Victoria Racing Club in May 2005. Various events held showcased the significant contribution the Melbourne Cup Carnival has made to the cultural and sporting life of Australia, and will provide the opportunity to bring Australian and International business people together during this exciting time. Glamour, fashion, fabulous food, fine wines, stylish and lavish corporate marquees, car boot festivities, racing characters, international and local celebrities, combined with the best thoroughbreds; create an atmosphere and experience unsurpassed.

The Victoria Racing Club is delighted to be working closely with Federal, Victorian and Local Government offices on this initiative, including; Austrade who have facilitated many outstanding trade and investment outcomes; Invest Victoria and The City of Melbourne who have both run successful business matching initiatives.

Melbourne Cup Business Network members through its program partners and the Victoria Racing Club will have the opportunity to foster networks and relationships with other businesses both nationally and internationally.

Last financial year Austrade assisted 3315 Australian businesses to achieve export and international business deals worth AUD $13.476 billion.

Subject to pre-qualification, and in line with Austrade's service offering Austrade will provide Melbourne Cup Business Network members access to a range of services for your product or service in the key international markets.
